About Darren Riggon
Darren is a Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, psychotherapist/ Counsellor and clinical supervisor.
He was trained in the UK and is keen to help individuals work through their challenges, moving from living their lives as passive observes to being active participants in creating lives that serve their happiness.
Darren’s philosophy is ” Your life, your way!” He has extensive experience in public mental health . most recently in Youth and Adult mental health. Darren has a number of
interests including, anxiety, depression, addiction and compulsion, workplace stress, life transitions, self esteem, anger management and LGBTIQ+ issues.

What is a nurse practitioner ?
A Nurse Practitioner is a Masters qualified registered nurse that has skills to provide high quality care in their specific specialty. Nurse Practitioners undergo extensive clinical training and are endorsed to function autonomously and collaboratively to work in advanced and clinical roles.
No referral required.
Medicare rebates are available.
This includes:
Diagnosis and treatment of psychiatric health conditions
Ordering and interpreting clinical investigations such as x-rays and blood tests
Provide prescriptions and access to the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme( PBS)
Prescribing and adjusting medications, managing side-effects and discontinuing medications where appropriate
Refer to other medical specialities
Write and provide sickness certificates.
